Three Suspected Kidnappers Killed, Victim Rescued in Otu Gun Duel

Security operatives, supported by local hunters and other agencies, confronted gunmen in the Otu community of Oke-Ogun, Oyo State, after attackers ambushed hunters on May 25. A swift response team overpowered the kidnappers in a gun battle, neutralizing three suspects. The operation led to the rescue of a 50-year-old victim, Mosudi Gbolagade, who sustained gunshot wounds and has been taken for urgent medical care. Security forces recovered an AK-47 rifle, a single-barrel gun and a machete from the scene, and one hunter is also receiving treatment for injuries. The Commissioner of Police praised the bravery and coordination between officers and local hunters. The command reaffirmed its commitment to aggressive operations against crime and urged residents to share timely information with security agencies.
