Pharmacist Sparks Outrage by Normalising Rape on Facebook

Pharmacist Sparks Outrage by Normalising Rape on Facebook — 1 of 5
1 / 5

A pharmacist and author posted on Facebook amid discussions of a woman’s suicide after an alleged rape by a content creator. He blamed the victim and claimed every man has forced sex at some point, asking who could throw the first stone. His comments normalised non-consensual intercourse and provoked calls for the Pharmacists Council to revoke his licence. The post went viral and sparked widespread backlash online. He later issued an apology, saying he was very sorry for the post. Many Nigerians, however, are not willing to accept his apology.
