Supreme Court to Deliver Final Verdict in ADC Leadership Dispute on April 30, 2026

Supreme Court to Deliver Final Verdict in ADC Leadership Dispute on April 30, 2026

The Supreme Court has fixed Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 2:00 PM for its final judgment in the long-running leadership fight within the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This follows the adoption of final written addresses earlier this month. The dispute pits the caretaker committee led by former Senate President David Mark against a faction loyal to Ralph Nwosu and Nafiu Bala Gombe. Mark’s group has appealed to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, warning that delays could threaten the party’s eligibility for the 2027 elections. In their suit, aggrieved leaders challenge the legitimacy of the interim leadership structure. The court’s decision will determine which faction INEC recognizes and whether the ADC can participate in the next general election.

How do ADC members expect the April 30 Supreme Court verdict to reshape the party's unity?

I agree, this ruling will show how strongly ADC members can stay united beyond this dispute.

I'm not so sure one court decision alone will patch up long-standing divisions in the ADC.

It's worrying that years of written addresses still haven't resolved leadership fallout, maybe court process won't settle underlying tensions.

I'm not convinced a single judgment date will stop rival factions running parallel agendas afterward.

Members should prepare contingency plans now, like clear communication channels, in case appeals stretch beyond April 30 deadline.
