Ogun SWAT Foils Midnight Cattle Rustling, Arrests Two Suspects
Operatives of the Ogun State Police SWAT team intercepted two suspected cattle rustlers and recovered a stolen cow valued at ₦1.7 million in the Ifo/Ibogun area. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on April 30 when rustlers invaded a dairy farm at Omitoro Village. Officers mobilised after a distress call from the farmer and pursued the suspects as they attempted to flee in a “Korope” mini bus. Police seized the stolen cow, a knife, and the operational vehicle. Preliminary investigations suggest the duo are part of a four-man gang; two other members escaped into nearby bush. The recovered cow has been documented and returned to its owner. The suspects remain in custody as the case is transferred to the appropriate investigative unit. The state police command has commended the swift action and promised to intensify efforts against criminal elements.
