I’ve Seen Good People Suffer: Toyin Alausa Condemns Online Reputation Attacks

I’ve Seen Good People Suffer: Toyin Alausa Condemns Online Reputation Attacks — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Nollywood veteran Toyin Alausa has opened up about her heartbreak over the online trend of tearing people down for clout. She said she watched in silence as strangers drag names, ruin reputations, and pour poison into the air. “I have seen it happen to good people… People who woke up to find their name in the mouth of strangers who know nothing about them,” she wrote. “They choose cruelty over truth simply because pain sells and controversy generates traffic.” Toyin urged victims to hold onto their dignity and see silence as strength. She also called on those who thrive on hate to find something real to hold onto, warning that hate is an empty house. Her post echoes recent calls from other industry figures against clout-chasing and social media negativity. Many have warned about the dangers of pursuing attention at the expense of empathy and truth.
