‘Fake PFIPC?’ DG Demands to Know How Council Made It into Budget
Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, has challenged the Presidency’s assertion that the PFIPC is non-existent. He questions how an agency with no legal backing was included in the national budget. President Tinubu ordered a 30-day ICPC investigation into alleged forged appointment letters, documents and diplomatic dealings linked to the body. Adeyemi says he will submit all the records in his possession to the security agencies to assist their probe. He insists he neither prepared nor defended any budget while detained for 23 days and calls for an independent panel to verify how the council became part of government processes. The Presidency maintains the PFIPC has no presidential approval or lawful instrument. The ICPC is expected to submit its findings within 30 days.
