Nigerian Army Declares Top ISWAP Commanders Wanted After Lake Chad Offensive
The Nigerian Army has declared several senior ISWAP commanders and operatives wanted after troops recovered intelligence materials during recent operations around the Lake Chad region in northern Borno State. Operation Hadin Kai said forensic analysis of recovered devices, including a camcorder allegedly used for propaganda recordings, helped identify terrorist leaders operating around the Mangari, Metele and Dogon Chukun areas of Abadam and Kukawa LGAs. Those named include Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa Wali, described as the ISWAP leader in the Lake Chad Basin; his deputy, Muhammad Jidda, also known as “The One-Handed Man”; and Hamad Abu Hanifa. The military said it will reward credible information that directly leads to their arrest and assured informants of confidentiality. Residents are urged to report relevant information through official security channels and not attempt to confront or arrest any suspect.
