Agagbe Blames First-Half Injuries for Barau FC’s Goalless Draw with Wikki Tourists

Agagbe Blames First-Half Injuries for Barau FC’s Goalless Draw with Wikki Tourists — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Barau FC coach Eugene Agagbe lamented first-half injuries after his side settled for a 0-0 draw against Wikki Tourists in Jos on Matchday 31 of the 2025/2026 NPFL season. He believes the knocks prevented them from claiming maximum points. The Kano-based club moved up to eighth place with 41 points. Agagbe praised his players’ resilience despite the setbacks. “Most of my players picked up knocks in the first half,” he said. “That was why the game ended goalless, but we thank God for the point.” Attention now turns to a home clash with Katsina United in the next ‘Northern Derby’. Agagbe insists his team will work hard to secure all three points and climb higher in the table.

Do first-half injuries really make that much difference for Barau FC, or are there deeper issues behind this goalless draw?

Could the coach's halftime changes have made things harder, beyond just the first-half injuries?

You're right to question if injuries alone explain their slump; there might be underlying tactical or squad depth issues too.

It's odd to blame just knocks when Barau FC had several chances before those first-half injuries even occurred in Jos.

I'm not convinced that settling for eighth place is enough to excuse a goalless performance against a mid-table side.

Barau FC should focus on strengthening squad depth to handle future injuries and keep momentum after this draw with Wikki Tourists.
