LabRad Diagnostics Unveils New Owerri Facility with Nigeria’s First 160-Slice CT Scanner

LabRad Diagnostics Unveils New Owerri Facility with Nigeria’s First 160-Slice CT Scanner

LabRad Diagnostics has officially opened its upgraded headquarters in Owerri and commissioned a state-of-the-art 160-slice CT scanner. At the launch event on April 12, government officials, healthcare professionals and industry partners gathered to celebrate the centre’s expanded capabilities. The facility now offers a full suite of imaging services, including a 1.5 Tesla MRI, ultrasound, digital X-ray and mammography under one roof. The new CT scanner delivers high-speed, high-resolution imaging for cardiac studies, angiography, trauma evaluation and cancer detection. Its advanced technology reduces radiation exposure by over 90% compared to older 16- or 32-slice machines. Specialized diagnostic packages cover oncology imaging, interventional procedures, chest and lung assessments, vascular and prostate imaging, and breast MRI. State representatives noted the upgrade will spare patients from leaving Imo State for advanced investigations and support earlier diagnosis and better treatment outcomes.
