Why Nigeria Needs Quality Roads That Last

Why Nigeria Needs Quality Roads That Last — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Nigeria’s highways should meet basic international safety and durability standards. Too often we spend billions on roads that start failing within a few years. Every major route must include: - Clear road markings and reflective traffic signs - Functional street lighting and CCTV monitoring - Emergency parking bays and proper drainage systems - Speed limit signs, road buffers and guardrails - Independent inspection at every stage of construction Good roads are about safety, accountability, and economic growth. We must demand transparency and long-term value so that new roads serve Nigerians for 10–20 years, not months.
