At around 9am on April 16, Cross River police arrested two suspects in Calabar’s Bogobiri area. The victim, 20-year-old nursing student Goodness, boarded a mini bus where the men posed as passengers. They dispossessed her of her Android phone and valuables before pushing her out of the moving vehicle. The driver raised the alarm and gave chase. Officers responding to the distress call joined in and apprehended Leo Celestine, 25, and Ndiana-Abasi William, 30. The stolen phone and other items were recovered. During questioning, the suspects admitted membership of the Vikings confraternity and involvement in One Chance robberies. Police say they are tracking down other gang members and urge commuters to report suspicious activity.
