Army Arrests Suspected Boko Haram Informant in Gwoza, Manhunt Launched for Network
Troops from Operation Hadin Kai arrested 24-year-old Modu Auta in Izge community, Gwoza LGA, Borno State on June 15. Intelligence from an earlier detainee, Abubakar Usman, led to the arrest. During preliminary questioning, Auta admitted living near Sabil Huda in the Sambisa Forest and named four alleged collaborators: Amodu Haruna, Ibrahim Idris, Tanko, and Ibu. He remains in custody of the 26 Task Force Brigade. Security forces say this intelligence-led operation aims to dismantle terrorist support networks and deny Boko Haram access to informants and logistics routes. Efforts to track down the other suspects are ongoing.
