UNIZIK Boosts Entrepreneurship Teaching with Effectuation Workshop for Over 200 Lecturers
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund and the National Universities Commission have launched a three-day effectuation training for more than 200 lecturers at Nnamdi Azikiwe University. The workshop runs at the College of Postgraduate Studies auditorium from July 21 to 23, 2026. University leaders say the sessions will strengthen delivery of key entrepreneurship courses at 200 and 300 levels. Participants were drawn from all departments up to the rank of Senior Lecturer, and two lecturers per department were selected. Key facilitators introduced the five core effectuation principles: Bird-in-Hand, Affordable Loss, Crazy Quilt, Lemonade, and Pilot-in-the-Plane. They also covered pedagogical methods to teach entrepreneurship to non-business students. Day 1 focused on foundations, mindset, and the Bird-in-Hand principle. Day 2 will explore Action Under Uncertainty, while Day 3 will address value creation, artificial intelligence, and creativity.
