1 / 3

A man was apprehended at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, after hospital staff recovered a stolen phone and multiple ATM cards belonging to doctors. Patients and doctors had been reporting missing items for weeks, including phones, laptops, ATM cards, and even motorcycles. A video shared on social media shows the suspect entering the oral surgery clinic before shouts of “Ole!” drew attention. He was stopped immediately, and the stolen phone was retrieved on the spot. When hospital security searched his pockets, they found several ATM cards that doctors had reported missing over the past week. Witnesses say this is not the first time he has been accused of theft.

Don't assume hospital staff are careless; they deal with many emergencies and limited resources might affect security measures.

Assign clear check points at ward entrances and run routine bag searches. Regular security drills could deter future theft attempts effectively.
