Troops from Operation Hadin Kai arrested two suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP informants in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State on the morning of March 23, 2026. The suspects, Musa Alhaji Isah (28) and Akona Alhaji (30), both from Shiwari community, were intercepted at about 5:30 a.m. in the Serial 7 area, an outer deployment zone leading to the Timbuktu Triangle. A military source said preliminary findings suggest the pair may have been conducting reconnaissance for terrorist cells. Officers recovered two bicycles, a mobile phone, three daggers, a torchlight, a wristwatch, protective charms and N6,900 in cash. The suspects are now in the custody of the Military Intelligence Response Unit for further investigation.
