NDA Refutes Unauthorised Reports of Cadet Sanctions
The Nigerian Defence Academy has issued a statement to clear the air on viral social media claims about disciplinary measures against its officer cadets. According to its Public Relations Officer, these rumours were not approved by the academy. Commandant’s Orders are routine administrative actions used to address infractions. The NDA Cadets’ Handbook outlines possible sanctions such as confinement, relegation, withdrawal and dismissal based on the offence. While some cadets were disciplined following a recent review at the Afaka, Kaduna headquarters, the academy emphasises that no unofficial communications should circulate. It suggested the unauthorised posts may have originated from individuals seeking attention. The NDA reaffirmed its commitment to upholding military ethics and confidentiality. It stressed its zero tolerance for misconduct and its ongoing mission to train disciplined, morally upright and academically sound officers.
