Tinubu Jokes He’ll ‘Send’ Akpabio to the Opposition to ‘Scatter Them’

At the inauguration of the new Nigeria Revenue Service headquarters in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu joked that he would “send” Senate President Godswill Akpabio to the opposition side to “scatter them” because “they’re confused.” Earlier in the event, Senator Akpabio claimed the recent surge in insecurity is politically driven ahead of the 2027 elections. I'm not convinced a joke about sending an ally to scatter opponents adds any real political strategy or seriousness to the debate.
