MTN Nigeria Appoints Bukola Ajayi as First Female CIO

MTN Nigeria has named Bukola Ajayi as its new Chief Information Officer, succeeding Shoyinka Shodunke, who held the role since 2021. Ajayi brings 27 years of tech experience and has served as General Manager of Architecture and Engineering since 2019. She led strategy for platforms used by over 90 million subscribers. This historic move makes her the first Nigerian woman to hold the CIO position at MTN Nigeria. She is also an advocate for women in technology and digital skills development. In her new role, Ajayi will oversee enterprise applications, customer platforms, billing systems, data management, and guide MTN’s expansion into cloud, AI, and financial services.
