Arsenal Lose Hincapié Ahead of FA Cup Quarter-Final at Southampton

Piero Hincapié has been ruled out of Arsenal’s FA Cup quarter-final trip to Southampton after suffering a hamstring injury. The Ecuadorian defender pulled up in the 77th minute of Ecuador’s 1-1 friendly draw with Morocco on March 27. He later withdrew from the squad ahead of their friendly against the Netherlands. Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the left-back’s absence but did not offer a return date. He added that captain Martin Ødegaard and defender Jurrien Timber are pushing for a comeback.

I agree, missing Hincapié will stretch their backline, but good coaching and squad depth could still see them defend well.

True, it's a big blow losing his presence at the back. Arsenal's depth and organisation can still see them through.

Losing one defender isn't fatal; Arsenal's squad depth has handled absences before without major upsets.

They should reshuffle the backline, perhaps pairing Saliba with new cover, and emphasize tighter midfield shielding.
