US Publishes Identities of Five Notorious Nigerian Cyber Fraudsters Set for Deportation
The US Department of Homeland Security has updated its “Worst of the Worst” portal with the names and photos of five high-profile Nigerian cyber fraudsters slated for deportation. This comes from a registry of 124 Nigerians prioritized by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Included are Obinwanne Okeke, once a Forbes “30 Under 30” honoree, now serving a 10-year sentence for an $11 million Business Email Compromise scheme. Also listed is Oriyomi Aloba, who hacked the Los Angeles Superior Court to send over 2 million phishing emails. Chibundu Anuebunwa orchestrated a $2.5 million corporate impersonation fraud. The list also features Quazeem Adeyinka, involved in a $2.2 million pandemic relief scam, and Olaolu Alabi, convicted of wire fraud and identity theft after siphoning pandemic funds for luxury trips. Deportation will follow each individual’s prison term as legal processes conclude. These cases highlight ongoing US efforts to repatriate foreign cybercriminals after federal convictions.
