Anambra Police Rescue 15-Year-Old Pregnant Student from Suspected Sexual Exploitation
Anambra State Police Command raided a location in Achalla, Awka North LGA and rescued a 15-year-old girl who was found to be heavily pregnant. Intelligence linked the raid to crystal methamphetamine abuse around St. Paul’s Secondary School. Officers arrested one suspect, identified as Tochukwu Nwora, on allegations of defilement and child exploitation. During the operation, a man was seen in a compromising situation with the minor, prompting immediate intervention. Preliminary investigations indicate the girl was repeatedly exploited by multiple adult males across Nando, Nteje and Achalla communities. Investigators believe small cash payments were used to manipulate and abuse her. The victim is receiving medical care at the Police Hospital in Awka. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough inquiry. The Commissioner of Police has ordered that any guardian negligence be examined and that all perpetrators be identified, arrested and prosecuted. Residents are urged to report suspicious activities to support efforts against child abuse and drug-related crimes.
