Rabiu Kwankwaso Resigns as NNPP National Leader and 2023 Presidential Candidate

Rabiu Kwankwaso Resigns as NNPP National Leader and 2023 Presidential Candidate

Press Statement I hereby announce my immediate resignation from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). This decision was difficult after serving as National Leader and as the party’s 2023 Presidential Candidate. I thank National Chairman Ajuji Ahmed, the National Working Committee, the Board of Trustees, and leaders at every level for their support. My deepest gratitude also goes to the Kwankwasiyya Movement and all party members for their dedication. I will continue to work with patriots committed to a more prosperous Nigeria.

Why do you think Kwankwaso decided to resign so abruptly after leading NNPP's presidential campaign? What circumstances might have driven this decision?

You're right, it did seem abrupt. Maybe deeper strategic shifts or undisclosed tensions influenced his decision.

It's surprising how a national leader and presidential hopeful would step down without mentioning specific reasons in this statement.

I'm not convinced quitting now solves any party challenges. Maybe staying to address internal concerns would have been more effective.

Party members should plan a transition team quickly to fill the leadership gap and maintain campaign momentum in upcoming meetings.
