Phyno and Olamide Ignite Sold-Out Enugu Concert

Phyno and Olamide Ignite Sold-Out Enugu Concert

On April 5, Phyno hosted a free homecoming concert at the International Conference Centre in Enugu, drawing a full house and unforgettable moments. The biggest surprise came when Olamide stormed the stage to chants of “Baddo” and performed his hit “Wo.” Phyno introduced him as “a legend, my bro” and praised their bond with the Igbo phrase “Nwanne dị na mba.” Their friendship dates back to 2011 and has produced classics like “Ghost Mode” and the joint album 2 Kings. This reunion showed how their partnership has shaped Nigerian hip-hop. Phyno also brought his daughter on stage during Qing Madi’s set and spotlighted rising rappers such as Jeriq, Aguero Banks and Evado, turning the night into a celebration of both legacy and new talent.

Absolutely, their collaboration lit up the stage, yet the crowd's anticipation played an equal part in that electric vibe.

This sold-out show sounds great, but I wonder if the free entry model will sustain those huge crowds in future events.

I get the hype, but calling it 'unforgettable' might be a stretch without more standout performances beyond Olamide's cameo.

Next time, organizers should consider adding local opening acts to warm up the Enugu crowd before the main performance.
