Inside the Badagry Horror House: NSCDC Rescues 24 Trafficking Victims
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps dismantled a suspected human trafficking and abduction network in Badagry, Lagos State. Operatives rescued 24 victims and arrested three suspects after months of intelligence gathering and community engagement. Investigators uncovered an illegal confinement facility where nationals of Togo, the Republic of Benin, and a Nigerian were held and exploited. Some victims had been missing up to three years. One woman gave birth while in captivity and two others were discovered pregnant. Officials say suspects laced food with unknown substances to control the captives. Families had spent years searching churches, mosques, and shrines for missing relatives, unaware they were held in a clandestine camp. Authorities urge anyone with information on missing family members to contact the Lagos State Command as investigations continue. The NSCDC reaffirmed its commitment to working with security agencies and community stakeholders to ensure Lagos is not a safe haven for criminals and to combat human trafficking and kidnapping across the state.
