Fidelity Bank’s Amaka Onwughalu Wins Woman of the Year at AMTY Awards
Amaka Onwughalu, Chairman of Fidelity Bank Plc, will be honoured as Woman of the Year at the 5th Anambra Man of the Year Awards in recognition of her outstanding leadership in Nigeria’s banking sector. She made history as the first female board chair of Fidelity Bank and was the first Anambra-born woman to serve as a bank managing director. Her career spans top roles at Mainstreet Bank, Skye Bank and Reliance Bank, and she now leads Blueshield Financial Services. Onwughalu holds a degree in Economics, an MBA and a master’s in Corporate Governance. She has also completed executive programmes at Harvard, Stanford, Cambridge and other international institutions, and is a fellow of key professional bodies in Nigeria. Beyond her corporate achievements, the award recognises her dedication to mentoring young professionals and championing ethical governance across the financial industry.
