Workers’ Day: FG Declares May 1 a Public Holiday

The Federal Government has declared Friday, May 1, a public holiday to mark this year’s International Workers’ Day. Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made the announcement on behalf of the government in a statement from the ministry’s Permanent Secretary. He congratulated Nigerian workers for their dedication to national development and urged them to embrace patriotism, productivity and unity. The government reiterated its commitment to workers’ welfare and security and encouraged everyone to celebrate peacefully while reflecting on the importance of hard work.
