Stop Politicising Insecurity, Oluwo of Iwo Warns Politicians
Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwoland in Osun, has appealed to politicians to stop turning insecurity into a tool for scoring political points. In a statement issued in Osogbo, his Chief Press Secretary urged political actors to work with government and citizens to tackle security challenges. He stressed that no administration can succeed without broad-based support from all stakeholders. The traditional ruler described those exploiting insecurity as "political bandits". He noted that criminals do not discriminate by party, ethnicity, or religion and called on leaders to offer constructive solutions rather than routine criticism. He also appealed to opposition figures to engage President Bola Tinubu in dialogue. He emphasised that human lives and national cohesion must take precedence over partisan interests.
