Final-Year Health Student Killed in Lokoja Road Crash After Exams
An articulated truck crushed a final-year student, Ismail Abdulkarim, shortly after he finished his exams at the Community Health Department of Kogi State College of Health Sciences and Technology in Idah. The crash occurred around 5:28 p.m. on May 22 opposite Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja. Witnesses said Abdulkarim swerved to avoid wheelbarrow pushers and fell under a speeding trailer, suffering a fatal head injury. Classmates and the National Association of Kogi State Students described his death as heartbreaking. The chapter president recalled Abdulkarim as a dedicated and humble young man whose loss deeply affects his peers. The Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the collision and said the body was taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, for autopsy.
