Tyla Unveils Cinematic Teaser for ‘A*POP’, Album Drops 24 July 2026

Tyla Unveils Cinematic Teaser for ‘A*POP’, Album Drops 24 July 2026

A grainy black-and-white image shows Tyla’s voluminous hair cascading across her face, overlaid with a bold pink “A*POP” logo. Tyla has confirmed that her sophomore album, A*POP, will arrive on 24 July 2026. She released a cinematic trailer that promises an unapologetically African and global sound for this new era. In the teaser, Tyla reflects on her growth since her debut, telling Rolling Stone that she now feels settled in and clear about her artistic direction. The 19-track project marks a shift from the rush of her first album to a more natural creative process. A*POP already features “Chanel” from her 2025 mixtape and the Zara Larsson collaboration “She Did It Again,” with rumours of a Wizkid feature on “DYNAMITE.” Tyla will kick off the release day with a performance on the TODAY Show’s Citi Concert Series in New York.

What do you all think about Tyla's choice of a grainy black-and-white teaser for her upcoming album? Does it set the right vibe?

That black-and-white filter feels so artsy and nostalgic, and it definitely amps up the anticipation.

I get the retro feel, but doesn't really hype me up for a pop album. Feels more artsy than energetic.

It's odd that the teaser leans so heavily on a retro film feel when the album promises modern Afro-pop energy.

I'm not convinced the teaser's grainy style will be memorable among so many cinematic promos flooding the scene.

If Tyla engages fans with behind-the-scenes clips showing how the trailer was shot, hype for the album could skyrocket.
