Southern Nigeria Must Unite Urgently Against Rising Terror Threat
Recent reports from Oyo and Ekiti should set alarm bells ringing. Shortly after Amotekun was launched, Governor Akeredolu fell ill with cancer under suspicious circumstances. Even his wife voiced concerns, but critics dismissed them as tribal rhetoric and Amotekun’s momentum faltered. Meanwhile, Nnamdi Kanu urged each region to secure its own land, only to face harsh punishment. A disturbing video circulating online reportedly shows a teacher abducted in Oyo state being beheaded by bandits. Nigerians must move beyond “my turn” politics and ethnic rivalries. If we fail to secure our regions, neither the army nor political promises will protect us. Southern states must work together now to defend against this growing evil.
