Tinubu Commends Benue’s Golden Jubilee, Vows Continued Federal Support
President Bola Tinubu described Benue’s 50th anniversary as a testament to resilience, enterprise, courage and hope. Represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, he spoke during the grand finale in Makurdi. He noted that since its creation on February 3, 1976, Benue has become one of Nigeria’s pillars and earned its reputation as the nation’s food basket. He paid tribute to founding fathers like Joseph Sarwuan Tarka and to past leaders and citizens whose sacrifices shaped the state. Tinubu commended Governor Hyacinth Alia for strengthening governance, improving infrastructure, promoting peace and expanding opportunities. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with Benue on security, agricultural modernization, infrastructure expansion and job creation. Addressing the youth, the President urged them to turn ideas into industries, talents into enterprises and education into innovation. He called on all sons and daughters of Benue to remain united and faithful as they work towards an even brighter next 50 years.
