Vice President Shettima Begins Two-Week Official Leave
Vice President Kashim Shettima has begun a two-week official leave, effective Thursday, August 6. It is his first announced break since taking office in May 2023. His office said the leave will allow him time for study and reflection, including a review of the administration’s programmes and emerging national and global policy issues. Shettima is expected to resume his official duties after the two-week period. The Vice President has continued to support government work in areas including the economy, food security, humanitarian affairs, digital transformation, job creation and regional cooperation.
