Kaduna Police Rescue Pastor, Two Others After 40 Days in Captivity
Kaduna State Police freed Pastor Daniel Tanko Bawa and two other abducted victims after more than 40 days in captivity. The operation followed intelligence gathering, strategic surveillance and a joint effort by officers from Fushin Kada and Hunkuyi division. The rescued victims include Ekechikwu Omale and Ummi Salisu from Kudan LGA, and Pastor Bawa of Tufa Village in Niger State. They were found unharmed in a suspected bandits’ hideout when the kidnappers fled on sighting advancing security personnel. Five suspected informants were arrested for allegedly providing information and logistical support to the kidnappers. The suspects confessed to their roles during interrogation. The state Commissioner of Police praised the teamwork and professionalism that led to the successful rescue. He urged residents to keep sharing credible tips as part of the ongoing efforts to dismantle the criminal network.
