Abuja Stations Cut Petrol Price to ₦1,365–₦1,375 Just a Day After Hike

Abuja Stations Cut Petrol Price to ₦1,365–₦1,375 Just a Day After Hike

Nigerian filling stations rolled back pump prices on Saturday, just 24 hours after a sharp increase. Ranoil and Empire Energy in Abuja now sell petrol between ₦1,365 and ₦1,375 per litre, down from ₦1,440. This follows a nationwide hike three days ago, when ex-depot prices rose to around ₦1,275–₦1,290 per litre. While NNPC and MRS Bovas adjusted to about ₦1,365, some outlets had pushed prices above ₦1,440. With the latest move, most stations now dispense petrol at ₦1,365–₦1,375 per litre. Marketers hope the reduction will attract customers amid ongoing crude price volatility.

Does this quick rollback signal effective regulation or just reactive price games by filling stations?

How can we tell if regulators forced the rollback or stations just jumped back to play market games?

I agree, e fit just be short-term price juggling instead of firm regulation.

It seems odd that stations would hike prices one day then slash them the next without clear explanation.

I'm not convinced this rollback truly benefits motorists if fluctuations still happen arbitrarily with no lasting relief.

Keep track of daily pump prices and fill up when you spot the ₦1,365 rate to stretch your naira further.
