Man Escapes Kidnap Attempt on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Car Heavily Damaged

A driver narrates how he narrowly avoided a kidnap ambush while travelling from Ibadan to Lagos along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Ajebo in Ogun State. At about 7:30 pm, one assailant leapt from the bush waving two heavy objects and hurled them at his vehicle. He managed to swerve around the first obstacle, but the second strike damaged his bonnet, bumper, headlamps, and fender. Before the attackers could regroup, he rammed the main assailant with his car and sped off. Shocked and grateful to be alive, he lamented the state of security in the country.
