Why the Father Didn’t Kill His Son: A Reflection on God’s Love This Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day! Today we celebrate God as the one true Father. Did God kill His Son, the Lamb of God? No. The world crucified Jesus to show God’s power over death. He raised Him from the dead, proving that even death could not hold His Son. True fatherhood means teaching, training and correction. Just as earthly fathers discipline their children, our heavenly Father disciplines us out of love (Hebrews 12:5–11). Suffering refines our faith and prepares us for eternal life. Like Jesus, we are called to carry our cross and trust God’s plan. Pain and struggle do not mean God does not care; they are part of our preparation for the life to come.
