Governor Mbah Transforms ESUT Teaching Hospital into Enugu’s Premier Health Institution
Enugu State University Teaching Hospital is undergoing a major overhaul to become the state’s flagship tertiary healthcare centre. New emergency and triage units, a six-floor medical services complex, and a seven-storey nursing and training facility are nearing completion. Advanced diagnostic equipment, including MRI and CT scanners, have been redirected to serve the general public. The hospital’s expanded capacity has already secured approval for a higher student intake and boosted accreditation for specialist training at its annexes. Improved working conditions and enhanced staff welfare have restored industrial harmony, ending strikes and attracting medical professionals from across the region. Upgrades to water supply and expanded children’s emergency services reflect the administration’s commitment to placing health at the centre of Enugu’s development agenda.
