Court Petition Seeks Deregistration of NDC Over ‘Illegitimate’ Registration

Dr. Umar Ardo of the proposed All Democratic Alliance has filed a court challenge against the Nigeria Democratic Congress, saying the suit is based on constitutional principle—not personal grievance. Ardo alleges the NDC bypassed INEC’s party-registration requirements. He argues there was no Form EC15A submission, no payment of the N2 million administrative fee and no portal application. He also says certified court records show no evidence of these key documents. He warns that allowing this process to stand could undermine democratic institutions. Ardo insists he has no personal quarrel with Peter Obi or Rabiu Kwankwaso and that his case aims solely to uphold the constitution.
