Deadly Bus Crash in Northern Ethiopia Claims 28 Lives
At least 28 people have died after a passenger bus veered off the road and plunged about 100 metres into a ravine in northern Ethiopia. The vehicle was travelling from Dessie in the Amhara region to Addis Ababa when the accident occurred. Several passengers were injured and rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment. Local authorities say an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash. Road accidents remain common in Ethiopia due to challenging terrain and poor road conditions, presenting ongoing safety risks.
