Stoke City Keen to Snap Up Free Agent Josh Maja
Stoke City are lining up Nigerian forward Josh Maja after his departure from West Brom, reports a sports outlet. Manager Mark Robins, a long-time admirer, hopes to strengthen his attack ahead of the new Championship season. The 27-year-old became a free agent upon leaving The Hawthorns after failing to agree fresh contract terms. Maja previously spent the second half of the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Stoke from Bordeaux, scoring once in 15 league appearances. Championship rivals Watford and Bristol City are also said to be tracking the former Sunderland striker. He has one senior Super Eagles cap and is valued at about €4.5 million. Maja scored 19 goals in 81 games for West Brom after joining in 2023, and will now weigh up his next move.
