Gateway International Airport Gears Up for 2026 Hajj Operations

In a coordinated strategy meeting, agencies like the Nigeria Police Force, Immigration Service, Customs, NDLEA, DSS, Amotekun, Port Health, Fire Service, and the Federal Ministry of Health aligned protocols and systems for seamless operations. State-of-the-art upgrades now equip every terminal, runway, and processing facility. Dedicated Hajj halls can process up to 500 pilgrims a day. NCAA approval has named GIA one of 17 official Hajj hubs in Nigeria, ensuring top standards in safety and service. This pilot operation will showcase Nigeria’s aviation prowess. GIA aims for precise, efficient departures for hundreds of pilgrims. The project reflects Governor Dapo Abiodun’s vision and investment in modern infrastructure and inter-agency collaboration. It marks a new chapter in Nigeria’s aviation journey.
