Help! Uncontrollable Full-Body Itching Won't Let Me Sleep

For the past three nights I’ve been kept awake by severe itching all over my body. It’s much worse than the occasional itches I used to get. At my former home I took a small white tablet for filariasis under supervision at a primary health centre. I would swallow two tablets on an empty stomach, wait until afternoon to eat, and repeat this for months. Since moving cities five years ago, I haven’t found the same treatment or where to get it. I avoid rainwater and boiled water baths during harmattan to reduce itching. Yet my arms, armpits, tummy, back of the neck, scrotum, pubic area, and even inside my anus itch constantly. Scratching makes the skin swell, sometimes bleeds, and the pain is unbearable when washing after using the restroom. This situation has left me depressed and afraid of missing work. I’m desperate for relief. Please, any advice, home remedies, or where I can get that filariasis drug would mean the world.

Did the intense itching start immediately after you took those white filariasis tablets, or was there a gap before symptoms began?

Good point—a delay in symptoms could hint at something else. It's worth pinpointing the timing.

Are you certain the itching only began after those tablets, instead of maybe before you took any medication?

Good point, knowing the timing could help identify the cause of your itching.

Itch this severe usually shows a rash or visible marks, but you didn't mention seeing any skin changes during these sleepless nights.

I'm not convinced the filariasis medication is the sole cause; environmental irritants or stress can trigger full-body itching too.

Try applying cool compresses before bed, use gentle, fragrance-free moisturizers, and see a dermatologist if the itching persists beyond a few days.
