Nnewichi Community Marks First Year with ₦54M Mobilisation and Hall Renovation Progress
The President-General of Nnewichi Community, Hon. Engr. Sir Emmanuel Udoka Chukwueloka, marked his first anniversary with a comprehensive report of achievements. After a thorough needs assessment, the administration prioritised the stalled ultra-modern multi-purpose hall. Roofing, window installation, security upgrades and plastering are complete. The upgraded facility will include a digital library, ICT centre, archives, security office and modern event spaces. A six-year scholarship for six indigent children was launched with support from Chief Dr. Emeka Alutu. The team also organised Nnewichi/Friends Day with sports, talent competitions, cultural displays and awards. Committees were restructured, security was enhanced, and the community was officially registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission. Financially, the administration inherited ₦400,000 but mobilised over ₦54 million from donors and stakeholders. Upcoming initiatives include a free medical outreach in June 2026 and a school outreach programme with mentorship, educational materials and sanitary supplies. Plans are underway to address infrastructure gaps at the local secondary school. Outstanding academic achievements were celebrated after Nnewichi schools secured the top three positions in recent quiz and debate competitions organised by the local government. The report concluded with an appeal for unity and a reaffirmed commitment to transparent, inclusive development.
