Kaduna Kidnap Survivor Returns Pregnant After Five Months in Bandit Captivity
A woman abducted from Kasuwan Magani in Kaduna State has regained her freedom after five months held by armed bandits. She was rescued two days ago following payment of a ransom. During her captivity in the bush, she faced hunger, sickness, repeated beatings and rape. Medical checks at the hospital confirmed she is pregnant as a result of the abuse. She has decided to terminate the pregnancy but cannot undergo the procedure yet. Doctors say she must first receive blood transfusions and stabilise her health. Her swollen feet and weakened condition reflect the brutal ordeal she survived.
