Eti-Osa Stakeholders Reject Fifth Term Bid, Allege Intimidation in Assembly Primary
Concerned members of Eti-Osa Constituency II have petitioned party leaders over what they describe as efforts to impose the incumbent lawmaker for a fifth consecutive term. The group alleges coordinated intimidation, cyber harassment and financial inducements aimed at forcing aspirants to step aside for the preferred candidate. They warn these tactics undermine internal democracy and voter confidence ahead of the primary. They also accuse a prominent former minister of applying undue influence on aspirants and stakeholders. The petition demands an independent inquiry into alleged coercion, cyber bullying and voter suppression. Stakeholders insist on a level playing field, periodic leadership renewal and call on national and state party authorities to ensure a transparent, fair primary process.
