Wembanyama Demands NBA MVP: “No Debate at Season’s End”

Wembanyama Demands NBA MVP: “No Debate at Season’s End” — 1 of 2
1 / 2

After leading the Spurs to a dominant win over the Miami Heat, Victor Wembanyama declared he should top the MVP race this season. With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Luka Dončić still in contention, he wants to settle the debate for good. The 22-year-old French centre delivered 26 points, 15 rebounds, five blocks and four assists in just over 26 minutes. He argues that defence makes up half the game and remains underrated in the MVP discussion. Wembanyama also pointed to San Antonio’s near sweep of Oklahoma City as evidence of his impact. He added that offensive value isn’t just about scoring, highlighting his season averages of 24.3 points, 11.1 rebounds, three assists and three blocks per game.

What key performances make you believe Wembanyama should already lock down MVP over Gilgeous-Alexander and Dončić?

True talk! His blend of blocks, buckets, and rim-running flair has been unstoppable this season.

Fair point. Those nightly 25+ points and rim protection stats really do tilt the MVP argument in his favour.

He's averaged 26 points and led that big win, but MVP races need consistency across the whole season.

Might be best to watch his team's next five games before anyone crowns him MVP; keep an eye on those back-to-back matchups.
