Traditional Ruler Urges Nigerians to Reject Ethnic, Religious Politics Ahead of 2027

Eze Bobby Aguocha has urged Nigerians to reject ethnic and religious considerations when choosing leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking to youths in Umuohuru Kingdom, he warned that politicians often exploit tribe and religion to distract voters from poor performance. He said candidates should be judged by competence, character, capacity and their record in office. The traditional ruler said Nigeria’s growing number of inter-ethnic families shows that the country cannot afford politics that deepens division. He called on traditional rulers, religious leaders and young people to resist campaigns that pit Nigerians against one another. According to him, whoever becomes president must govern for every Nigerian, regardless of ethnic or religious identity.
