Spotlight on Ojude Oba 2026: Yoruba Fashion and Horse Parades in Ijebu-Ode
Ojude Oba 2026 returned to Ijebu-Ode days after Eid al-Adha. Thousands of attendees gathered in Ogun State to honour a century-old Yoruba tradition. Women arrived in bùbá and ìró made from aso-oke, adire and lace. They paired coral beads with fans, parasols and statement sunglasses that turned the sun into a backdrop. Men wore well-fitted agbadas and traditional caps. Beaded walking sticks and cultural staffs added texture and colour to their outfits. Regberegbe groups rode through the crowd on decorated horses. Drums and cheers filled the air as this landmark festival celebrated Yoruba heritage and community pride.
