Uniport Lecturers Suspend Post Graduate Programs Until Further Notice.

It is sad to learn how post graduate students are made to suffer due to a directive by ASUU to lecturers not to tend to them until further notice despite ASUU not being on strike and students not owing any fees. Information gathered suggests case of misappropriation of renumerations accruing to academic staff which are exclusive to post graduates cases. There is the question of what has happened to the monies paid by students and other funds meant to cater for the post graduates program in terms of lectures and their entitlements for supervising post graduates students , which also includes other pre requisite functions performed by members of ASUU. It is very unfortunate that rather than taking advantage of this period that ASUU is officially not on strike to pursue further advancement in education, the post graduate students who already have fears that any strike would truncate the progress of their programs are unjustly caught up in this bad situation. We hope that attention would be drawn to resolving these issues as quickly as possible for the sake of saving the future of education in Nigeria.
