Konyaspor Eye Summer Deal for Awaziem
Konyaspor have opened talks with Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem over a potential summer move following Nantes’ relegation from Ligue 1. Turkish reports say the Anatolian club want to bolster their defence with the experienced centre-back. Awaziem has already enjoyed two loan spells in the Super Lig with Çaykur Rizespor and Alanyaspor, making a combined 38 league appearances and scoring once. The 29-year-old Nigeria international, who can also operate at right-back or in defensive midfield, has attracted interest from several clubs this summer. Konyaspor finished ninth in the Turkish top flight last season and reached the Turkish Cup final.
